She was a founding member of MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy) which produced the historic concerts, album and movie NO NUKES and continues to work on the nuke issue as well as fighting to preserve ancient forests. Bonnie continues to work on issues of peace, as well as women’s, Native American, and human rights. In 1995, Bonnie established the Bonnie Raitt Guitar Program, which provides free guitar lessons for young people, especially girls, in over 180 Boys and Girl's Clubs across the United States and Canada. As one of the founding members of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation in 1988, she is still fighting for artists' royalty reform, financial assistance and recognition for a whole generation of R&B Artists to whom we owe so much.
